Abstract: Wastewater Planning Driven by Environmental Effects

August 13, 2018

This is an abstract for a paper being presented at the Water New Zealand Conference & Expo 2018. Senior Process Engineer Kirsten Norquay will present Wastewater Planning Driven by Environmental Effects with Ian Evans, Strategic Manager Water and Waste at Southland District Council. The paper is also co-authored with Principal Environmental Scientist Sue Bennett, Environmental Scientist Isobel Oldfield, and Principal Civil Engineer Richard Bennett (all from Stantec New Zealand). The paper looks at Southland District Council's wastewater strategy to address the complexities and issues that come with operating twenty low-rated wastewater schemes, expiring resource consents, and new legislation requiring improved freshwater quality.
