Stantec was commissioned by the Town of Davie after its water treatment plant experienced an objectionable odor from its finished water.
In order to get at the root of Davie's issue, extensive water quality data, including site visits, vendor feedback, and consulting research, was conducted which led to the discovery that the source of the odor originated from the Anion Exchange (IEX) System.
Renuka Mohammed-Bajnath, Jeffrey Pinter, André McBarnette, P.E., P.M.P. (Stantec), and GJ Schers (CH2M), published an article in the Florida Water Resources Journal (FWRJ) that presents the operational improvements performed to the IEX system to preserve the Town’s drinking water quality and eliminate the objectionable odor from its finished water.
This article originally appeared in the November 2016 issue of Florida Water Resources Journal.
Content was originally published by MWH Global, which is now part of Stantec.
