Presentation: Prevention through Design: Hazard Awareness Program

September 16, 2019

Accelerating the journey to achieving the goal of zero accidents and injuries within the mining industry

Safety must always be the number one priority in mining operations. A Prevention through Design program delivers on this priority by deploying a process as part of engineering and design efforts to identify and mitigate risks to personnel during development, construction, operations and/or maintenance. The three key objectives of a Prevention through Design program are to promote hazard awareness, facilitate risk identification, and implement risk control and mitigation strategies. The above presentation summarizes these objectives and reinforces the notion that all incidents can be prevented with a mindset of collaboration and a commitment to safety.
