With over three decades of experience—including 14 years specialized in the education sector—Javier is a talented project designer responsible for developing and achieving technical solutions. His leadership and expertise have enabled him to manage interdisciplinary teams, including external consultants, while also actively dedicating himself to supporting and coaching the career development of our junior staff.
In addition to his role as an architectural designer, Javier actively participates in technically-focused groups dedicated to improving efficiency and innovation across Texas. He’s known as a “Newforma champion” in our Austin office, providing support in the construction administration phase of projects. Additionally, Javier is an active participant in the Latinos in Stantec employee resource group and has been chosen as a global co-chair for the 2024 and 2025.
Javier proudly advocates for Colombian coffee, believing it sparks great stories and enriches his life beyond architecture. Beyond work, he treasures family time with his accomplished children: Andy, a political science and law doctorate, and Nena, a neurologist. Recently, Javier also welcomed his first granddaughter, Aelina.
